Safety
Training
Trailer unloading is seen as the most difficult and physically demanding function in the supply chain. As a company we have taken steps to ensure our employees operate safely in accordance with Company and OSHA regulations. Employees are trained and certified to operate powered industrial equipment according to OSHA standard 1910.178. We have several OSHA certified trainers on staff that works closely with management to prevent injuries and make sure all employees are trained thoroughly. Employees MUST be trained on all equipment before they are allowed to work within a facility. To help prevent injury employees are REQUIRED to wear steel toed ANSI approved footwear at all times, no exceptions. Safety eyewear is also mandatory anytime a fork truck is operated. Our employees fully understand OSHA regulations on the receiving dock and are expected to obey all regulations at all times.
Accident Investigations
Our management staff has been fully trained in accident investigations by an outside consultant. In the unfortunate event that an accident should occur, you would receive a full root cause analysis of the incident. Any employee that is involved in an accident will not be allowed to operate any equipment until the investigation is complete and they have been re-evaluated by a certified trainer on the operation of powered industrial equipment.
Working Together
We are involved with companies ergonomic and safety committees. Often overlooked by companies, the unloading crew can provide valuable input to safety rules and regulations. Because we work in many facilities we get to see different work practices and see many creative ideas that have been implemented. With the company’s permission, we can share this information to create a safer work environment in all facilities we perform work in. Safety has to come first and foremost, and we are committed to safe work practices and polices.
